Quoting posts on Mastodon

What’s the purpose of preventing me from quoting your post on mastodon? Basically I can make a screenshot and quote your post anyway.

I do understand why blocking or muting other people or hashtags is useful. You don’t want to hear from this person or about that topic. Fine by me.

I do understand why it’s good that you can control who can follow you. You don’t want your stalker around you. Fine by me.

These are all measures that concern your mental heath. You should be able to control what arrives in your inbox. Your area of responsibility.

But, you can control what I can quote? I don’t get it.

This makes it even more absurd. It seems that Daniel did quote another post and his post was available before the original post. Maybe before he received the permission to quote the post?
